Just a third…
A pretty lean Thursday, with only Catalina Dreaming making the frame, running third.
Ten on a busy little Friday, and some real prospects on offer today!
TGIF Ten!
Wailua
Mornington R7
Been going round at big odds and had done little in two resuming races but ran an eye-catching third at Kyneton in October, swooping home from near-last to run the winner to half a length. Does get back early and he repeated the dose 24 days ago this T&D with a superb finish, last all the way but sprinted home along the rails, and looked the winner at one point, but ran a close third at $2.30, earning a next-time tag, and here he is, an a super EW bet at $10 in an open betting race…

Effortkat
Port Lincoln R4
Has improved with every run this prep, all at this track, drops back to the 1000m but her T&Ds are outstanding, and this is another very open affair, $6 makes her very backable…

Tydeus
Port Lincoln R6
Three second in a row here and less than a length away in each of them before a close fourth a month ago. Up in grade, would prefer no rain but still rates a chance at $8.

Flattered
Moonee Valley R2
The run in May at the Hillside in Open class was top notch, screaming home from last to run second, his fourth in six runs, then ran fourth at Sale before heading to the paddock. Resumes after 163 days, Billy sticks, if she’s anywhere near she can break maidens here, $4.80 on offer.
BET: 5 units ew
Autumn Storm
Moonee Valley R8
Gritty win at Geelong in October before clearly outclassed at Flem, then ran a close second this T&D 21 days ago. B Shinn jumps on, very hard to beat as $2.70 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Devine Miss, Kattegat
Canberra R6
DM is very consistent, likes this T&D, down in grade and a real EW chance in this at $7.
Kattegat will have taken benefit from the resuming run 21 days ago and should go better today. Tends to lead, so will need to be nursed a touch early over the 1200m but does have decent stats at this distance. EW at $21.
BET: 3 units ew
Adolphus
Canberra R7
Adolphus has been massively impressive winning two races in May in dominant fashion, before running a strange race, very stop-start, but looked the winner about 200m out as he hit the front only to fade late in a blanket finish for a second at Wagga in June. Resumes today, Nick Heywood sticks, too good to ignore and if he hits the front from the ace draw, he’ll be hard to catch, $3.60 fav.
BET: 10 unit win
Cornelian Bay
Devonport Synthetic R4
Consistent without winning, back in grade and looks a cert for a place, $4.60 on offer…

Fiendish
Esperance R7
Been a while since he won but was better last time out for second at Kalgoorlie 47 days ago. Up to 1400m suits, look for him late at $11.
