Maybe next time…

Our one-hit wonder in Dillinger landed in a nice spot yesterday, but couldn’t go on with it. We suggested the fav would be hard to hold out, and so it proved, so the saver on the trifecta worked out fine!!

Big TGIF today, featuring the Wyong Cup day, where we’ll be including our blackbookers in the late qadi. Eight from the book, let’s dive in and fill those wallets ahead of the weekend!!

Resumes from an 8 month break when her form had tailed off a bit, but she ran two seconds to a couple of decent types in Great Time and Pivotal Ten, on soft and heavy going. Worth including at $7 with the Mudman up top.

BB resumed in June at Newcastle with a solid second and we fancied him to push on with it a six weeks ago at Taree and he made a mess of them. Fancied him to go on with it last week on the Kenso but he just couldn’t see it out after racing on the pace and running fourth on a heavy track. Back in grade and distance a touch here and back on former footing (3:2-0-0) he’ll be a threat to this fav as $3.20 second fav.

CL ran a slightly disappointing seventh behind this fav three weeks ago, but previous form was consistent without winning. Up in grade a touch, but an EW shot at $14.

Saltcoats, Age Of Sail, Indifference

On to the Wyong Cup, where we have three from the book, including $2.35 fav Saltcoats. Fully expected him to win two weeks ago but he was a touch ordinary on a heavy track at Randwick, running fourth. Gets the JMac/Waller tick here, back on a firmer track (8:2-2-3), can turn the tables on Nellie Leylax.

AOS resumed from a four month break three weeks ago, his previous un being the G1 Sydney Cup, albeit a $151 shot and well-beaten, but he ran a decent third for us at $19 and he’ll have taken real benefit=t from that. Worth an EW punt at $13.

Indifference won 12 days ago by a margin, and though he’d prefer a bit if give in the ground, he’s another EW shot at $61, especially with the in-form B Nock onboard.

BET: Saltcoats 10 unit win, other two 3 units ew, nice exotics combos here…

Very open event for the mares in the last here, with our girl $6 favourite at the moment. Resumes from nearly five months in the paddock, is 3:2-0-0 first-up and has trialled up recently, the last one under JMac who jumps on today. Nice stats for her limited career, and while we’re very wary of $6 favs, she should be right in the finish.

Birdsville? Deep in the Queensland interior right on the border with South Australia, and obviously home to these regular picnickers… Highground got up a month ago at Corfield (?), has been consistent this prep and can take this out as$3.60 fav with the seasoned W D’avila onboard.
