Tike spikes!!
Well, he finally lived up to his hype yesterday, Tikemyson sprinting home at Awapuni to win with a leg in the air under Lisa, backed in to $2.05 fav and justifying our 8 unit win.
In the previous race, Luxuriant presented on the final bend, and it just looked like a matter of time before she raced away but she just couldn’t pick up the runaway leader with the other well-beaten.

Riccarton Park Synthetic R3
Mormaire resumes from a spell after she was going well in her previous prep, very consistent until failing on the grass here in late Jan. Has won first up, though chances depend on how well she returns. Gets the in-form DRT up top and rates an EW shot at $21.
MTW is a little hard to catch but talented on her day. Super T&Ds from this, has been going round at big odds recently but presents as an $8 shot today.

We had been waiting for him to re-surface since October when he debuted at Wingatui, spruiked and backed and screamed home from last of 14 to run fifth. Popped up over at Bendigo in December, drifted in the betting and ran last of eight before heading to the paddock for 4 months. Resumed at Ballarat last month, where he looked like he needed the run, then did nothing at Echuca two weeks ago. Has some talent, otherwise they wouldn’t have carted him over to Aus, maybe the heavy track will assist, $31 the go at the mo…

Lots of scratchings have reduced this to a field of just seven, with the veteran 10 year old mare propping them all up at the bottom at $13. Will need some improvement to figure… does like the mud though…

I have a lot of time for this consistent gelding, he resumes today from a 275 day spell, prior to which he won his last two races in this grade no less. Placed 4 from 6 on heavy, though no first-up form to speak of. Usually gets back and steams home, so the 1200m looks a bit short for him, so this could be a tune-up, will keep him safe though at $21.

Needed the resuming run 13 days ago, but his second-up form is nice (8:2-3) gets his fav jockey and distance. On-pacer, back from metro racing, keep him very safe at $5.50 in this small field.
