Thought he’d be in contention 19 days after powering home on resumption for fourth from dead last, and while he did finish well, he was a bit too far off them. If they ride him a bit closer, and they’ll need to, he could figure in the finish late on at $34. Zac Spain a nice jockey upgrade.

Another with a good finish in him, broke maidens for us last month before a close eighth 11 days ago. Up in grade, but the step up to the mile will help, chance at $19.

Noted with a brilliant finish to win at Pak in August and followed up with two thirds in September when up in grades. Back to the BM58 after a four month break, only missed the frame once in eight runs, great stats at the distance and also under Tommy Stockdale. If he’s fit, he can win this, $5 on offer.

Canterbury Park, 6
Impressive winning at Ballarat almost a year ago and has run in some decent grades since without winning, but rarely far away. Re-united with Jmac (3:0-0), ran sixth this T&D 14 days ago and is 8:0-0 on good going doesn’t point to her winning this but she’s $3.10 fav, and should be finishing strongly, so chance against these…

Back into some good form with a win and a second last two, Tidy stats, jockey is 3:1-1, on-pacer who will give them something to chase down, $4 second fav in a small field, can beat off this fav.

TANTRUMS
Sunshine Coast, 4
Ex-Kiwi who ran a couple of good placings here late last year then ran a poor seventh without ever getting into the race in mid-Dec. Back on a heavy track is the key here (3:1-1), and she can figure in this at a juicy $21.
