100%!!
What a cracking start to the new race season!
One scratching left us with five tips, and we hit 100% with a winner, a second and two thirds!!
We were very keen on Desert Nymph (5 units ew) after her last run when she screamed home after being well-supported and she hit the front at the last bend yesterday and drew away for a nice win at $5.40/$1/70.
More Likely (2 units ew) didn’t seem likely as a $41 shot, but we suggested we keep him safe with the addition of Johnston-Porter up top might help and he ran a much-improved race for second at a very juicy $7 the place.
Thirds for Bourbon Road ($2.30), Brilliant Mind ($1.50) and Tycoon Beau ($1.85) rounded out a nice day for us!
Seven for TGIF, and some real prospects here to fill the wallet ahead of the weekend!!

Ipswich R3
Very smart winning on debut last October, then ran fifth, then last, in November then went to the paddock. Returned from a 207 day break needing the run but made late progress, then ran a very close fourth a month ago then repeated that at Grafton 12 days ago with a fast finish. She’s ready to win, jockey has won on her before and the rise to 1350m suits. $3.30 fav.

Cool Encounter
Ipswich R4
Consistent without winning many but looks well-placed here, especially with Jimmy Orman taking the ride. If he finds a finish, he’ll be hard to beat as $4.40 fav, this is his chance.

Advance To Jaffa
Ballarat Synthetic R4
Resumes from a short spell, two runs to date as fav for two placings, should be too good for these as $1.65 fav, Jonny Allen sticks.

Fire
Ballarat Synthetic R6
Fire’s early career form was sound but dropped off a bit during last year. Resumed a month ago from a long break needing the run, down in grade today, and has decent second-up stats, keep safe at $9.

Handshake
Swan Hill R5
Resumes from a 264 day spell, ran last before that, obviously with an issue as he’d run top three in his nine previous races. Drops back to the mile where he’s 1:1, this could be a tune-up but he has talent, another one to keep safe at $19.

En Francais
Coffs Harbour R7
We do like this mare, has performed well at G2 and G3 and resumed from a two month break with a close fourth to Punch Lane 19 days ago. Has a big finish, will be hard to stop in this as $3.50 fav.

Asfoora
Goodwood R4
And over in the UK we have Asfoora overnight. She’s a really smart mare, multiple G2 winner in Aus and ran a nice fourth at Haydock on her UK debut, then came out in the King Charles and beat them all with a superb ride up the middle of the track, can back up at $4.50
