Finished well to win at Hanging Rock two back, then ran a fast-finishing third here 12 days ago at SP $19. Up to BM70 grade today, but he’s going well enough, likes the distance, gets J Mott onboard and loves the distance, EW at $12, watch for him late!

RECOMMENDATION, GENERAL BEAU

Recommendation is very consistent and finished just behind Brudenell in the Oakleigh last month, that horse going on to win the Bel Esprit 13 days ago, so expect these two to fight it out, $5.50 on offer for our boy.

General Beau resumed from a 4 month spell 13 days a the same meeting, running a close fourth, maybe needed the run and has decent second-up stats (7:2-3). $9.50, EW bet…

SOCIAL CONSCIENCE, JOLTIN’ JOE

SC went in the book almost 2 years ago, early career form was very consistent but had dropped away last few runs. Better suited 15 days ago when significantly down in grade to where he’s won before, and he produced a much-improved run for second for us. T Stockdale climbs back on (7:2-2) the extra 100m should suit, $9.50 looks generous.

Joltin’ Joe resumed 12 days ago here, running on into fifth and will take something from that run. Spaces his wins out but can figure late here as a $15 shot.

Liked his resuming run a month ago at Newcastle and he burst home from the back at Muswellbrook 14 days ago to just miss the frame. The rise to the 1400m looks useful, not won for some time, but watch for him late in this at $5 in a small but tight betting field. Loves the track and the distance.
