Two placings

Couple of scratchings yesterday as a fifth NZ meeting gets abandoned due to weather and/or track conditions, reducing our tips to six.

They produced a much-improved run for second from Fighting Arrow (2 units ew) placing at $7, and Cool Lad running third at $2.30, after our much more fancied selections fell by the wayside…

Riccarton Park Synthetic R6

Has been going round at odds and rarely far off without winning. Her T&Ds suggest she’s an EW shot in this at $11.

Struggling to find some form, has changed stables and does drop back to a grade where she’s 5:2-1. Best form is on soft, but does get DRTait up top, so maybe an EW chance at $13.

GD much improved run for the seasoned gelding when resuming 13 days a go at Bendigo with a second placing in a big field, running on well over the 1100m, so the extra 100m and the drop in grade at the Bool 28 days ago looked suitable and he ran a close fifth. Should finish well over the longer 1400m today, $7 on offer.

Moxatation can also fly late so the rise to 1400m should also suit better than the 1000m 4 days ago, $41 shot.

Resumed a month ago on the Pak synthetic from a five month break, and did not go well, fading from midfield to run next to last of 12. Generally thereabouts without winning too many (28:2-9), dropped in grade 14 days ago and ran a tidy second paying $12, up on the pace over the mile. Rawiller is a nice booking, second-fav at $4.80, should go close…

Noted in September when she cruised home to break maiden status at Benalla then ran a nice second straight up to the BM64 grade. Form is a bit hit and miss, and we spruiked her up a month ago at Wangaratta but she sat midfield and did nothing. Drops back to the mile, will need to be on-pace but a chance nevertheless at $11.

Sat back as usual at Bendigo 15 days ago and bolted home for third. Gets B Egan up top and if they can get him out of the gate handy he can make an impact late over the longer 1247m as $4.80 second fav.

Another one mixing his form, won two back for us and finished well from the back 14 days ago and jumps out to the 1800m today, which should suit. Winning jock Chelsea Jokic is back up top, EW bet at $10.

On-pacer who resumed a month ago, needed the run at Home Hill and is 5:1-2 second-up but will need the improvement to figure at $101.
