Well, that was underwhelming, with none of our five showing very much at all, but that’s racing…

Been banging away honestly enough this prep without really threatening. Drops back to the 1400m today, where he won the last time he attempted this distance, so maybe Lisa will ride him closer to the pace today. Can’t discard as an $11 shot…

We’d been waiting for this mare to fire for sometime, and Opie rode her closer to the pace at Rotorua a month ago and she finally cleared maidens with a nice win, appreciating the wetter track. Kennedy hops onboard today, and now she’s got the idea, she can push on, $8.50 shot in an open betting event.

I have a lot of time for this lad, rarely far away and a consistent placegetter, although only won three from 24. Needed the resuming run 17 days ago after a 4 month spell, goes very well at this T&D and drops in grade for this. Gets his fav going too, and I think he’s a sleeper in this at $9…

Resumes after a long break and has had a couple of trial thirds to tune-up for this. Down in grade a touch, good distance stats, and though last prep was below par, he can figure in this as a $9 shot.

She was firmly in our sights on resuming in early October, and obliged with a fast-finishing third at big odds for us. We duly spruiked her again a month ago and she duly obliged at $4 at Randwick. Would prefer a bit of give in the ground but well worth following here at $9.50.

REAL GUN, OH NO MIKKI

Real Gun’s been a revelation this time in and sits on a hat-trick here after demolishing them 25 days ago at Benalla. Up in grade, but he ran a close second in this grade at big odds in September, we’ll be onboard again at $3.70/$1.75
ONM followed up a good trial a month ago to steam home for a nice win after some previously patchy form. Nick Souquet sticks, and now he knows where the winning post is again, can’t leave him out, $7.50 on offer…

Both on the 5 days back-up from Townsville, though not the same race, and both have claims in this small field.
