Our two from yesterday consisted of a well-fancied fav and a roughie, with the favourite failing to figure at all and the roughie running a decent fifth…

Huge from the back on debut July last year, has had a couple of spells since and wasn’t far off earlier last year. Three resuming runs this prep were tidy, she’s been getting back in the runs but finishing on, so we were expecting that the push out to 2050m 9 days ago would suit but she unusually went forward early and ran out of puff at the end… Back to 1400m after than failed experiment, so if they race her in a similar pattern, then she rates a chance in this at $7.

Proving tough to catch right now, and just the one win for 32 isn’t very inspiring… Back to the mile might help, $11 on offer…

He’s 2 from 2 and noted 21 days ago with a tough finish here to get up and win. Ben Looker sticks, no reason he can’t push on, $3.00 fav.

In good form this prep with just the one fail. Generally on pace and if they ride him a touch more conservatively he’s a good chance in this at $3.30, with almost three co-favs in this.

Not massively far off in recent runs, apart from one, but she’ll need to lift to start featuring in the finish. $34 outsider in this, but not writing her off just yet…

Seemingly stuck in third gear with four consecutive placings in that position, mostly within a length of the winner, and with most of her runs being at Townsville. Bit of a roadtrip for her today, and surely she wins this one, $3.70 fav.

Mostly a backmarker with a decent finish in her, so her last run finishing last at Eagle Farm was massively out of character as she’d only missed the frame once in eight runs. Forgiving the last run, she’s $5 second fav in this, and picking she’ll be there right at the sharp end of proceedings.

Better last time out 16 days ago but sports a poor record this track (4:0-0). Maybe a place at $4.80…

Supported into red figures 21 days ago at Wagga and typically got out to a big lead, though he was hanging on at the end for the win. Those tactics suited to the Valley of course, just a bit concerned about the extra 200m, but no doubt he’ll try and run them off their feet. Up in grade will test too, EW at $13.

Resumes from a 195 day spell but possesses some compelling stats for this. Won three of his first six before heading for Open company and certainly not disgraced behind the likes of Marble Nine. He’s 1:1 on the track, 2:2 at the distance, 3:1-0 first-up and D Lane is 3:2-0 up top. Two wins have been on good going. $4.40 on offer, just need him more forward than usual in the run, otherwise he might struggle to catch ‘em over the 955m dash…
