One fourth…

Didn’t expect an awful lot from two of our blackbookers yesterday but were very keen on the chances of Dillinger, down in grade after a smart win last time out, and he travelled nicely on-pace but found nothing on the run-in to finish fourth under the apprentice. We’ll be expecting Harry Coffey back onboard next time…

Nine from the book on TGIF, let’s fill those accounts for the weekend!

TGIF Nine…

Mister Goldie

Wingatui R1

Ew punt in this at $32.

BET: 2 units ew

Eye Spy

Wingatui R6

Some good runs last prep and resumed 32 days ago needing the run. Will be fitter and has won second-up and also on heavy and sports decent T&Ds, EW at $7.50.

BET: 4 units ew

Jet Jitsu

Geelong R7

Second-up today and has a handy record in that state. Down to a grade he’s 6:3-2 in, fav jockey onboard, so ticks a few boxes, chance at $18, watch late…

BET: 4 units ew

Jaykayann

Cranbourne R7

Finished well for fourth on resuming and also has tidy second-up form (3:-1-1) and Billy Egan sticks (6:2-1). Backmarker with a good finish, and the rise to 2080m is a positive, just think she may want it wetter underfoot… $11 in an open race, could be the sleeper, again, watch for her late…

BET: 4 units ew

Butternut Princess

Cranbourne R8

Went in the book just prior to Christmas with a super finish from dead last to run second, then ran a close third 14 days ago here. Fitter, gets C Hefel up top, out to 1300m and definitely a threat in this at $4.40.

BET: 8 unit win

Oakeys Choice

Canberra R1

Generally on or about the pace, race three seconds before a couple of sixth placings, gets fav jockey back onboard and rates an EW show in another very open betting event, $12 on offer…

BET: 3 units ew

Rumours Abound

Canberra R6

Five horses within a dollar of each other, with RA a slight fav. Drops back from the BM78 and her previous run in this grade saw her nicked on the line. J Lyon back onboard (4:3-1) and he can make amends in this at $4.40.

BET: 5 units ew, if money comes 10 unit win

Sir Boo

Inverell R6

Returned in April from a big 231 day break, and while he has a decent record first up, and the 1000m looked a bit short for this perennial backmarker and he duly ran last. He’s 3:1-2 second-up and pushes out to a more suitable 1200m but does jump in grade. Could feature late at a juicy $61…

BET: 3 units ew

Kalahari Heart

Inverell R8

Thereabouts without threatening recently, has won two from four this T&D, maybe a place at $26…

BET: 3 units ew
