Bang, bang!!
Our great form continued yesterday, just the two from the book, but they produced a stout winner in Araletta, gritty down the straight to get up at $2.90, and a slashing third from the much-improved former Kiwi in Crickets Chirping, paying a delicious $9.50 the place!
On to today, with five from the book, and real prospects of more winners as we start the new season. Happy birthday to all thoroughbreds!
I’ve also been told that there’ll be some surprises from the NZTAB regarding offshore betting, can’t wait to see what it is, but seeing as we can’t punt with overseas betting agencies any more, I suspect it will be further measures to keep NZ punter’s money firmly in this country…
And while we all understand the need to support our local businesses, I’m a bit concerned about our possible lack of freedom of choice.
The jury’s out at the moment, we wait with bated breath… watch this space!

Choccy’s been close up in both runs, steps up to the mile today and gets Z Lloyd up top. Only question is Kembla will go ahead, with a heavy 9 track and rain falling, in which case our lads booked for Newcastle tomorrow. He’s a $2.60 shot in this, looks a two way go between the two favs…

Well-related mare who’s double-engaged today. She seems a win-or-nothing type, and resumed three weeks ago when running on for a close fifth. All three of her wins have come on firm footing, which may dictate where, or if, she starts today. Around the $12-$14 mark, and capable of featuring in either race.
