A third…

Just a third from More Likely yesterday, paying $2.20.

We’ve got 15 from the book on a very busy TGIF, with plenty from the Wingatui meeting, plus a best bet from earlier in the week who missed a run – and a win we think – when the meeting was abandoned. It’s payback time!

TGIF’s First Fifteen…

Pin Seeker

Wingatui R1

This is an interesting runner, resumes after 291 days after only two runs, and caught the eye on debut with a fast finish after being spruiked up prior, then ran last of nine before heading to the paddock. We’ll be watching closely, $34 outsider…

More Sass

Wingatui R3

Another we’ve been waiting for after running second to Great Time in March, albeit beaten 5 lengths but had the rest well covered. Softer the better we suspect, the $3 second fav indicates plenty of support, so keep her safe…

BET: 8 unit win

Second Thought

Wingatui R6

And that resuming factor seems to be the flavour today, with this mare also back after a couple of big breaks, but has run some trials in prep for this, and gets Tina into the bargain. $9.50 hope in an open affair, another to keep safe…

Buoyant, Amberecho, June Bug

Wingatui R7

Three in this, sitting at $7.50, $9.00 and $11.00 and all have claims in another open betting race.

Buoyant’s early career stats were outstanding, but his last seven runs (all in Aussie) have seen him last or close to last but in higher grades than this, and he resumes very much down in grade and some decent stats nevertheless, jockey is 2:2 onboard.

Been a while since Amberecho has featured but has tremendous T&D stats for this.

June Bug won for us in July under DRT and she sticks today, subsequent runs have been decent for this frontrunner, and the drops back to 1200m means she can lead these a merry dance…

BET: All 3 units ew, exotics if you can work it out…

Eye Spy

Wingatui R8

First two runs were promising, breaking maidens in the second with a huge run from the back, then ran eighth and three thirteenths! Yet another resuming, $23 outsider, who knows?

Missoni

Wingatui R9

Heavy tracker who flew home in March, earning a next-time tag, and she won under Tina for us last month, then ran dead last three weeks later on good ground. It’s soft here today, but is that enough? $8.50 in another very open betting contest.

Markwell Dreamer

Taree R4

Mixes his form somewhat, generally gets back in the run and charges home late as he did in late August for second. Trialled up with a second last week for this, but he has poor form on heavy, which may hold him back today, $3.40 in a tight contest.

BET: 4 unit win

I Am The Empire

Taree R7

Watched him hand out a lesson and a beating 13 days ago at Doomben, where he led all the way and gave ‘em a bath by nearly 5 lengths. Back in grade and distance a touch, he’ll be hard to stop in this as $2.70 fav.

BET: 10 unit win

Duke Of Hastings

Moe R5

Put in a better effort 19 days ago, another backmarker with a decent finish, but he’ll need to be at his best to feature in this, $7 on offer.

BET: 3 units ew

Mathew

Moe R6

Far better back in this grade last time for second after an even effort in BM100 previously. Has a very good finish in him, and while this is a tad shorter than he’d like, he’s well in this as a $7 shot, hard to see him missing the frame with Billy up top…

BET: 5 units ew

Devine Miss

Canberra R6

Powered home a month ago at Moruya for a big $12 win for us and a decent third here 20 days ago has her right in this. She’ll need to be closer in the run over the 1000m, $4.40 in a small field, EW if you can.

BET: 5 units ew

Sapphires Son

Canberra R8

His last win was 14 months ago, and produced a class record at Quirindi, but it’s fair to say he hasn’t risen to those heady heights since then. Down in grade but ordinary stats, backmarker who’ll also need to be closer, $10 on offer…

BET: 2 units ew

La Pleine Lune

Pakenham R8

Robbed of a run, and a win, earlier this week when Kilmore was abandoned, I’ll just repeat what I said then:

If you saw the debut of this colt in May, you could not fail to be impressed by the way he put them away at the Bool. Got out fast and gave nothing a chance, winning by 9 lengths, with the second horse Guerite coming out and winning at Donald and duly gapped that field. So when he came out 16 days later at Scone, we fully expected another resounding win, but while he bounced well, he faded badly for eighth, and not unexpectedly, headed to the paddock.

Resumes today after 154 days, won a trial 15 days ago, McDougall is a significant booking, $2.70 in this, get onboard!

BET: 10 unit win
