Places only…
Two seconds, a third and a fourth yesterday, as we just couldn’t get one over the line!
Promising runs from Primo, who rattled home late for second at $2.00 under replacement jockey Koby Jennings after Zac Lloyd was stood down after a previous fall. More to come from this lad we feel. Setteveli improved markedly from his last two runs, and was right there till the end, running sixth but only 2.7 lengths away. He’ll win again for us.
Scenic Rim was up in grade and distance, just couldn’t quite hold out the eventual winner but ran a gritty second at $2.20.
Interllectus ran an improver’s third while Phorcys scooted home late along the fence at big odds into fourth, he’s gonna get in for us soon, maybe over longer…
Six from the book on TGIF, let’s get some funds for the weekend!
Six of the Best for TGIF!
La Opcion
Riverton R8
She’s a real enigma this one, mixes her runs hugely and ran a tidy third for us 39 days ago after three very poor runs. Likes it wet, and she’ll get that today, Tina sticks and she’s up to the mile where’s she’s had most of her success. EW shot if she’s at her best at $9…

Valieva
Bordertown R2
Huge run from dead last on debut last July, suggesting a win wasn’t far off, but three subsequent runs only produced a fourth when racing here in October. Resumed with a fast-finishing third a month ago at Gawler and we were pretty bullish about her chances 15 days ago there but she simply got too far back, as she does, and while she produced her usual good finish, she could only run into fifth. However, could be a different story today as she hops up the 1550m, and if they rate her a little further forward, she’ll be descending on these late, and looks good value at $6.

Drift Net
Geelong R3
On-pacer who folded late at Seymour 21 days ago when massive odds-on, disappointing after two very good seconds for us, so it’s a bit of a puzzle as to why they’re pushing her out to 1325m here today… Can only assume they’ll ride her a touch more conservatively today and she gets a big jockey upgrade in Blake Shinn, that said she can shed the maiden tag today as $3 fav. Owes us this one…

Chico Sonado
Geelong R4
Rinse and repeat for this lad. Noted on debut March last year with a gritty, all the way win at Sandown, but has had a couple of long spells in the paddock, obviously has talent but also had some issues you’d think… Has been on pace in the two runs this prep but weakened out in both, and once again, they push him up to the longer 1733m today. Let’s see if Linda Meech can also ride him a touch easier and save him up for a last go at them. $17 outsider in this…

Real Gun
Albury R7
We’ve got a bit of time for this lad, he’s won well for us at odds more than once, and has stepped up to higher grades this prep, and ran a brave fourth at Wagga at $14 19 days ago. He’ll need to scoot over quickly from that horror draw in the carpark, but he’s capable of that, if he can get across he’ll give ‘em something to catch back at the 1000m. $5 co-fav in a very open betting race…

Bold Response
Cranbourne R7
Won three in a row last year at BM58 before a couple of failures at BM64. Resumed from a 176 day spell back in grade here in late March with a nice win from on the pace back at the BM58, but couldn’t sustain that in the BM64 14 days ago, nor in the run here over 1200m 14 days ago. He’s an on-pace type, so back to the 1000m and back on firmer ground could be the key today. EW chance at $8.50.
