Two + two…

Two firsts and two seconds yesterday, with Free Spirit getting up at $9.40 and Cornelian Bay at $2.60, with Lurch paying $2.10 a place, plus a slightly disappointing Hot Too Go losing six lengths at the start when slow out of the gate and getting beat by less then two lengths… There’s a win coming soon…

It’s a one-hit Monday, with a mare that disappointed last time out but looking well-placed to make amends today…

Resumed early July with a seventh and then ran a bold race for third in late July trying to lead all the way. Fitter, and we really fancied her to make an impact eight days ago at Gundagai, but while she got away fast, she faded badly at the final bend to run last. If she employs the same tactics today over the shorter 1000m, I fancy she’ll get away with it in this small field, $4.60 on offer…
