Both ends of the scale again yesterday, our well-fancied blackbooker in Speedy One belied his name despite settling in a good spot, and gradually faded to finish well down the track.

On the other hand, the hard-to-catch Jet Jitsu flew home, as usual, for a super third, paying $3.60 the place…

Spruiked up by a mate of mine when resuming 25 days ago, and while she was 15 lengths off the winner, the run was better than that as she finished on well from long way back. The rise to the mile will help, she’s been racing in Aussie prior to returning here, and she’s the sleeper here at $10, keep safe, watch late!

Two in this, and both consistent in that they’re thereabout without winning in recent races…

MD has run a couple of placings this prep but has never won on heavy. Jumps in grade, EW at $8.

Telegraph has a better record on this going (8:1-3-1) and his T&Ds are solid, can’t help thinking he’s got a win coming soon, and J Penza shows intent. $16 in this and a firm EW chance.
