Two nice winners…

A tough day to find winners yesterday, but we found a couple of good ones…

Bankers Choice got up right on the line to win at $9.50, while Kiwi horse Jimmysstar produced his trademark finish for a scintillating win in the Schweppes at $6.40.

Best of the rest was a close second for Very Sewreel, paying $4.60.

Spruiked and supported on debut last May, totally missed the start, green as you like bit flew home late to earn a next-time flag. Repeated that performance to run a closer fifth with another huge finish before heading to the paddock. Resumed last month after a 282 day spell, and finished nicely for fourth, then duly obliged at Gunnedah to break maidens. Fancied her to go on with it with JPH sticking 14 days ago and she finished fast for third at her first go at the BM58. He sticks and up to the 1400m will suit, watch for her late at $8.

Resumed from a long spell last month with a third at Broken Hill before fading to last after being prominent over the mile. Bit hard to catch, down in grade a touch but needs to improve to figure here as the $26 outsider.

Been going round at big odds this prep but has still managed a win and a third… Has a decent finish so the rise to the mile will suit, $4.20 fav in an open betting event and should be steaming home.

Ex-HK sprinter we spotted at Flem on NY Day getting up right on the line in a blanket finish, that was enough to suggest the extra 200m would suit 18 days later but he faded late after being prominent, then ran last at Sandown before heading to the paddock. Trialled twice, he’s second fav here in a small field, can win if he’s ready.

Spaces his wins out, tends to get back and resumes here from a six month spell. Has won first-up but might need this over the shorter distance, $7.50 on offer.
