Just a second…
Our one-hitter looked the winner for a long time yesterday but got run down late by the hot fav.
Seven for the midweeks, let’s have a look…
Midweek Seven…
Jack In The Box, Takeiteasy
Rotorua R8
JITB is an inconsistent backmarker who pops up occasionally, finished well for third at Tauranga 18 days ago in this grade but the 8:0-0 stats for good ground do not read well for this today, $10 on offer.
TIE won three back at Taupo but subsequent two were poor. Ditto re- the good ground stats (7:0-0), unlikely at $34…

Ersa
Caulfield Heath R3
Her nine length win to break maidens in October last year was top notch and has run in G1 and G3 company since before running two close seconds at the end of last prep. Resumes after 192 days, has talent, will go close if she’s ready…

Rockabilly Rebel
Caulfield Heath R4
The win at Swan Hill in September was remarkable, looked like no chance with 200m to go when a well-supported fav but Rawiller steered her through the gaps and she won like a good ‘un! Gets Billy up top, better value than the fav at $6.50.

Social Conscience
Caulfield Heath R5
Bit in and out but the resuming run at Bairnsdale 15 days ago was eye-catching from the back. Has had success at this distance and in this grade, D Lane placed 3 from 5 up top, easy EW bet at $5.50.

Invincible Spy
Warwick Farm R5
He’s won 4 from 7, two of the others failing at G3, so this is his level. Prefers top of the ground, and resumes from a six month spell, trialled three times without doing much recently but he’s got talent, $4.60 second fav in an open event, keep safe.

Winchester Rifle
Launceston R6
Struggling of late and will need to pick up significantly to figure in this as the $26 outsider.
