Our one-hit wonder couldn’t get close yesterday, on to a busier Saturday, featuring the $400,000 Tarzino Trophy at Hastings…

Blew ‘em away on debut last October before quickly tackling G1, G2 and G3 company with some credit. Resumes from a 6 month spell, won a recent trial and looks ready to feature in this, $8.50 looks juicy!

AL dominated the last meeting between these two 17 days ago, leading throughout for an impressive 3.5 length win, with V in fourth. Can’t see that changing today, though V does get the good ground she prefers (4:4-0) and has more experience over this distance, but the ease of AL in that win has her well on top for us as $2.15 fav.

Crocetti (9:8-1) not surprisingly, presents as $2.20 fav here, having only lost one in nine, but, that was to Bonny Lass… Looks like a race between the top three, with Waitak a possible placegetter after his eyecatching run in the Foxbridge for fourth 14 days ago.

Former HK-er who finally got up for a win here two back then jumped in grade only to find it a bit too hot for him, which could also be the case today. Prefers some give in the ground, the longer distance may help and gets in light, so maybe a place at $8.50.

Pearl Of Alsace, Not Ideal

Pearl won her first five on the bounce and has gone well as she’s moving through the grades and is a G1 placegetter. Resumes from a 5 month break, presents as the $5 second fav, EW all day…
Not Ideal not going well enough to threaten in this, even down in grade a touch, but he too will enjoy the firmer surface, and his T&D stats are decent, $34 on offer.

Looked like he was hitting form three back when winning at Wanganui but has been well off next two. Conversely, he’s 5:0-0 in form, so this will not suit today, hence the $26 on offer…

Noted in Nov when blocked for a run and a cert beaten. Since then she won and placed in four races, before racing up in grade at Ellerslie then heading for a spell. Resumed here late June, and ripped home from the back for third, and we really fancied her next time out, but she jumped near last and stayed there. Back to the mile and back in grade here 21 days ago and we really liked her chances and she steamed home for fourth. Her T&Ds are super, Kelly Myers sticks, relishes the firm ground and is an easy EW punt at $5.50 second fav in this…

Lisztomania, Carribean King, Point Basse
Randwick R3
Listzomania caught the eye with huge burst from the back in July at Rosehill to run fourth, and duly noted. He returned there 21 days ago with a huge finish for third, he’s racing well and a win is on the cards, especially with JMac up top, $5.50 makes him real value EW.
CK had super early career form, but has been persistent placegetter without winning. Resumed from a 161 day spell here 28 days ago, running a very nice second, and Nash sticks for this, $6.50, and also an EW shot.
Point Basse has great early career form, but was disappointing at Rosehill on resuming last month. Was set to go again last week but meeting was abandoned, so gets another chance for redemption today, and can’t totally discount him as a $19 shot.
