Well that was better!!
Two winners, with our best bets in Luxuriant (10 unit win, $1.90 – $3 if you got on early) and Dillinger (10 unit win, $2.30 – $3.30 if you got on him early) booting home for us.
Our insider horse Rose Noir (5 units ew) ran a far better race than in her previous listed event, where she was paying $151. Better drawn yesterday, she stalked the pace and though well beaten by the winner, she had the rest of the field covered, running second at $2 after a few scratchings reduced the field. Tony Gollan will be pleased, as will my mate, as she earned a few bob to pay for her feed! Next time should be interesting…
Markwell Dreamer also stepped to run second, our 3 units ew paying $3.20 for the place.
Cosmic Rhapsody ran fourth, plus there were a couple of scratchings, so not a bad day, five returns (72%) from our seven blackbookers…

Forget his last run in a firm surface, he’s an out and out mudder, and he gets that here. Down hugely in grade, they’ll sit him just behind the pace and produce him in the last 200m, $6.50 makes him an no-brainer EW bet!
