Three to watch…

All three of our tips yesterday had late-finish potential, and so it proved, earning them next-time flags…

Kalahari Heart steamed home into third, Electric Evie into fourth and Gold Tracker into sixth.

Bad weather in Aussie has taken out two meetings there, leaving us with another three tip day.

Former Kiwi who raced just five times over here, well-supported each time, noted on his last run at Tauranga in October getting way to way back, tailed off last and game home with a wet sail to run a close second. He popped up 16 days ago at Stawell and just missed in a great battle with the fav, and superb effort after almost 6 months away and a first run in Aus. Back up to the mile today, logic says he breaks his duck here as $2.25 fav

Ballarat, 6

Needed the resuming run 13 days ago but he’s hard to catch. Likes the distance and the going and has second-up form (7:1-4). Ms Gaudray up top a definite bonus, $26 on offer.

GENTILESCHI

Scone, 8

Debut run was eye-catching as she screamed home for second, and we marked her down as a next-timer. She came out 12 days later running way up in grade as a $41 shot at Randwick, but not disgraced in tenth only 5 lengths off the winner before being put away for 160 days. Resumed off the back of two good trial 25 days ago and spanked ‘em here, also with a big finish, and we noted that there was more to come from this girl… Presents as $1.80 fav her, the extra 100m looks no problem, and Bullock up top works, he rode her in the trials.
