Couple of thirds in Winchester Rifle (3 units ew, $4.20) and Girl (5 units ew, $2.70), with Upper House just edged into fourth…

Noted 18 days ago with a huge finish for fourth and marked down as a next-timer. Down in grade, up in distance, tick, tick, tick… Second fav at $2.90.

BR is a Kiwi making his first Aussie start with a great chance to kick off with a win under Billy Egan as $3 fav. JJ is very consistent and returns after a 3 month break. He’s 5: 1-4 first up, has T&D form, and both of these have a good finish in them.

RUSSLEY CROWN, PEPPER’S GHOST
Muswellbrook, 5
RC returns from a 5 month break, very consistent, has won first up, loves the distance and presents as the $2.40 fav, big chance to win. PG is yet another resuming, no form in that state but is generally on or about the pace, so the drop to 1280m may assist, but he’s a $31 shot here.

DR COPPER
Gawler, 7
He was a $101 shot 5 days ago, so backs up very quickly here today. On recent form, you wouldn’t look at him, but his run along the fence at the death was stopped as the gap closed, just about as he was going to threaten. He’s back up again today as a $61 shot, can’t guarantee he’ll win, but this is what PG’s Tips is all about, so make sure you’ve got him covered.
