Easy as 1-2-3…
A first, a second and a third yesterday, plus a sad end for one our blackbookers…
We are very keen on the chance of Cause for Concern (5 units ew, 10 unit win if the money came), which it certainly did, backed in from $6 to $4.70 and duly winning.
Ramones was also well fancied and ran a promising second at $1.80 on resumption, next time for him.
And Prepare For Change (2 units ew) was a $23 shot and came with a nice late run as predicted to place third at $4.00…
Unfortunately The Awesome Son knuckled over and snapped a fetlock on the last bend and had to be destroyed. A regular backmarker with a big finish, he gave us a few nice dividends, hope he’s in horsey heaven munching on some nice grass…

Been a while for this fella but he finished on well for fourth last time out here suggesting he may be coming into a bit of form. Very open betting race, he’ll relish the heavy ground and gets Smilin’ Joe up top. Chance at $4 in a small but competitive field…

Won for us first up this prep on the Sapphire Coast at $9, then two middling runs. Steps up to 2600m here, which is new territory for him, so we’ll try him EW at $13.

ALTERNO

He’s mostly been pretty close up in seven runs this prep over a variety of distances from 1300m to 210mm. This is probably his best distance, though his form on heavy is abysmal (7:0-0). $14 shot, maybe a place if he’s got used to the slop he’s gonna encounter today…
