Untried on heavy, but she’s capable of a big finish, resumes today after a 6 month spell, dropping back in distance and grade (last run was in Listed). Rarely far off and while she may need the run is an ew bet at $9.50.

Gospodin racked up six wins on the spin for us before heading to Aus mid-year. He ran a couple of consecutive seconds for us at SP $21 before three fails, and returns to NZ today to contest this one. Good stats, worth looking at, $15 on offer… Tightlign is also back, he ran last at Ruakaka before heading to the paddock for 3 months, but prior to that had won 4 out of 5 for us. Has won first up, $23 seems a touch generous…

Drops back from G3 level to this, and will run fav at around $3.50. Can take this out.

Produced a nice all-the-way win for us in June at $12, but hasn’t been able to repeat since. $26 shot.

Drops in grade for this, and is a chance on the close third two runs back. $4.60 in a small but even betting race.

The big grey mare has been unable to repeat the $21 win she gave us late last year, and would seem to be only a place chance here at $12.

His good early career form has petered out a bit, done very little this prep and he looks a bit challenged in this one.

His win from the front in April at Sandown caught the eye, and he jumped in grade next time out for a close second at Caulfield before running behind Tuvalu at the Bool. This is his distance, though suspect he’d like it a bit firmer under foot. Chance at $8…

Another one whose early career promise has faded somewhat… has a good second-up record, but not sure he’ll have enough in the tank to win this. EW at $6
